Growing up in a bustling multicultural city, getting to experience so many different cultures helped shape me into the person I am today. Well, after living in the city for eight years, I was, in a way, directed to a different path and moved to the countryside. It wasn\u2019t necessarily a glamorous choice and I didn\u2019t fully predict it at the time. Organic stores? Nah. We have farm-fresh shopping. Soho and the high street got swapped for thrifting. It was an adjustment, but I can now say that this way of life is giving me the peace and creative freedom that my soul desires. I always feel awkward writing about myself, and I’m not sure if you found me through my Instagram or YouTube, or one of my recipes led you here, but I’m glad that you are here.
I started this website in 2019, then someone had some fun with it and hacked it to pieces, it almost vanished into non-existence. But as with other things in life, sometimes it’s nice to get a fresh start. So it feels extra special in that sense, that I get to reintroduce myself several years later.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
What has changed since then? When I started this journey in 2019, I was still living in London and my days looked mostly like this: morning walk, heading to my local organic store, coming up with some recipes, emails (as freelancing is a non-stop hassle), a bit of downtime, and repeat.
Sounds glamorous, but I had many years when I was trying to climb that corporate ladder and, even before that, being in hospitality, which was so traumatising in a way that I don\u2019t even want to give those experiences any other thought, except that they helped me become stronger and not give up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It took me over two years to find myself in this new setting, as I had left so much behind. I\u2019m someone who thrives on routine, but when I fall off, it takes a long time to find and adjust to a new one.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/laforance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Edited-by-Laforance_-6-1440x1800.jpg\")

For years I had a busy main street outside my windows, now I have nothing, just birds and nature. Within these few years I did move once, but not too far, just literally next door. Maybe I have a thing for moving, who knows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
